The economic impacts of inadequate sanitation in India

This study report suggests that inadequate sanitation causes India considerable economic losses, equivalent to 6.4 per cent of India's GDP in 2006 at Rs. 2.4 Trillion. It quantifies the economic loss in health, tourism, access time and water due to inadequate sanitation. It also represents the effect of the same on rise of death due to water bone diseases.

National River Conservation Plan

National River Conservation Plan (NRCP) is a centrally funded scheme launched in 1995 aimed at preventing the pollution of rivers. It provoide information of each state on amount sanctioned under NRCP to which city and for what purpose. Purposes included under the plan are construction of STP, river front development, low cost sanitation, afforestation etc.

External Aided Water Supply and Sanitation Projects

The Ministry supports external aided projects in the water supply and sanitation sector. So far 17 projects have been implemented with World Bank/French assistance. The details like project name, cost, donor agency and year of completion are given.
