UN report reminds the world to tackle climate change immediately

The world is hit by a global pandemic, taking everyone by storm and severely impacting various regions. COVID-19 has disrupted the economy throughout the world with small farmers being particularly vulnerable as they lack base capital to tide over the lull in the economy.

COVID-19 pandemic and the associated policy responses highlighted and often exacerbated weaknesses and inequalities in our food systems. Many vulnerable people faced threats to their immediate food security, health, and nutrition restrictions.

A recent study on the impact of COVID-19 on migrant workers in India indicates that almost 75% of the surveyed workers did not have any source of income after the lockdown and almost 45% reported difficulty due to food shortages.

Let me introduce myself to you. I am Kanari,  born as a river from the lap of the  Ghutehi hills in Ghutehi village from Jabalpur district in Madhya Pradesh. I flowed down the hills as a dancing damsel  showering love and warmth everywhere on my way towards unknown regions. Throughout my childhood, I was surrounded by greenery and trees and flowers were my friends.

Every year, programs of central and state governments and donor-supported programs train thousands of people who work to implement programs on water and sanitation in their villages.

There is a predictability to the narrative around North India’s air pollution. Air that is unhealthy all year-round becomes unbreathable during winter, largely due to particulate matter in emissions from farm fires in Punjab, Haryana, and Western Uttar Pradesh.
