Three Awards will be given in the following categories:

a) The Ramsar Convention Award for Wetland Wise Use
b) The Ramsar Convention Award for Wetland Innovation
c) The Ramsar Convention Award for Young Wetland Champions

The entries should deal with urban and industrial issues of environmental protection and management. Entries related to water and climate change – and presenting positive examples, possibilities and solutions - are encouraged. All entries must be clearly associated to India. 

The fourteen women and three men were rapt as Pan-'da' explained the intricacies of Himalayan geology. Every now and then, a question would be asked. Pan-'da' would then create an impromptu geological model using a notebook or a whiteboard eraser to explain the concepts. This was essential because the audience had no prior background in geology. Only some of them were even literate.

Increasing urbanization in India has led to soaring freshwater demands and has hence resulted in large amounts of wastewater generation. This water crisis is mainly a consequence of the current water management regime which focuses on centralized water management.
