Description:

The workshop addresses the self in the human being. It draws attention to human needs - need for human relationships, inherent desire to seek knowledge, and the joy that we naturally derive from these. In our current situation, we might be seeking different things. Thus, it brings about a dialogue between what we are and what we want to be. It does not posit happiness in an after-world, but here and now, based on a "humanness" common to all human beings. The approach is rational, secular and universal.

InSPIRE is a 5-week long summer immersion program in India that aims to facilitate the process of both internal and external exploration for young Indians/South Asians drawn to the land of their heritage.

The short duration and middle-of-summer dates allow participants from quarter, semester and trimester system universities the flexibility to schedule other activities before or after the program, such as volunteering with an Indian NGO, visiting relatives in India or getting a job.

We are beginning this effort with the conflicts that we have already documented by the Forum. You could also contribute to this effort by sending in abstracts of conflict cases that you know.
