About the organisation
A group of IIT-educated professionals, some with two decades of experience in the field of development, and their friends, established People's Science Institute (PSI) in 1988. (PSI) as a non-profit research and development organization. The Institute is known in India's voluntary sector for its pioneering work in the fields of community-led watershed-based livelihoods development, environmental quality monitoring, disaster-safe housing and dissemination of appropriate technologies
Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is open to representatives from voluntary organizations, SLNA members including PRIs & WDTs, user groups, SHG members, junior engineers and students from the Himalayan states preferably with a background in science/geology or engineering.
What to expect
The course will be in Hindi.
The trainers would be experts fromACWADAM, ACT & PSI and the curriculum will include theoretical sessions, practicals and field work on hydrogeology and water quality. By the end of the training the participants will understand fundamental concepts of hydrogeology of the Himalayan region, groundwater management, geological and hydrogeological mapping, design watershed development plans, and monitor groundwater quality.
Fee details
Rs. 1500/- per participant as training fees which includes stay at a hotel for 10 days, food, training material and state-of-the-art training by experts from ACWADAM and ACT.
