What rituals need to be performed before the drilling of a borewell? What direction should the well be in a north facing plot?

Please advise, what all rituals/pooja to be performed before start of drilling of borewell and which is the best time or good day to start drilling of borewell. Also comment on direction/location to be followed for a north facing plot
