This query is from Nagavara, Bangalore. We have two borewells for our apartment and they both function very well. The depth of each borewell is 550' and dia is 6.5". In neighbouring areas, we hear of many borewell failures due to borewell wall collapse and the pump cannot be retrieved. Is it advisable to adopt a preventive methods to safeguard existing functional borewells? Insertion of perforated PVC pipes fastened with collars seems to be one suggested method. Please advice what is best as preventive maintenance and if we can approach any agency who is subject matter expert with such service.
