Water stops after 2 mins of running the borewell motor - Is there a problem with the motor?

Hi All,

My borewell motor is of more than 3 years old and the well is almost 350 feet deep. For the past few months, I am facing an issue. Previously , we were able to fill the overhead tank with in 15 minutes and it gradually increased to 25 minutes. I realized that the motor is not pumping enough water. Now we are not abe to pump the water to the overhead tank and we are using the sump to store the water. What I noticed is that , after 2 minutes of switching the motor, water stops but still the motor is running. If I switch off and switch on again, water will be pumped for another 1 minute and stops. Is it a problem with motor ?

Recently I chaged the capacitor in the MCB and there is no help. Do I need to replace the motor or give for re winding ? The current motor is 2HP one.

One more question. I got water when at 65feet deep and again at around 200 feet deep. I am sure there is water in the well. Can I use a normal pump instead of the submersible one ?

Can some one point to a good repair/technician in the Sarjapur Road area in Bangalore ?

Regards,

Gopi
