Hello,
I am planning to harvest rooftop rainwater and use it for groundwater recharge through a recharge borewell. To begin with, I've not been able to get any data on geology below the site from the owner of the place and also the government.
My queries are:
- To know the geology below, do I need to drill a test bore or are there other non-invasive methods also to ascertain the same?
- In case of a test bore, if we encounter clayey soil formation, do we need to go further below or can leave the bore in the midst of clayey soil? Does the recharge water make its way through clay or it absolutely doesn't?
- What tell tale signs are there for a suitable strata for ground water recharge that should one look out for while boring a test shaft?
