Want to harvest rain water in farm - Should I recharge the existing borewell or dig a percolation pit using geo physical survey?

Hi,

I have a farm where I want to harvest rain water. This is because The TDS levels are 2500 ppm due to salinity ingress by backwaters. It has started affecting the soil and trees which are fruit bearing. We have got two company representatives visit the farm and both suggest different ways to harvest rain water.

One of them suggested recharging the existing bore well which is 190 feet deep and the other suggests a percolation pit using geo physical survey report about 25 feet away from existing bore. I am suppose to choose one out of the two and start work. Plus, I need experts' advice as well as people who have farms where they recharge borewells to share their experiences.
