I am initiating a few RWH projects to generate awareness on this issue in my community I have a few queries and would seek help from you regarding these!
- Can a U-PVC pipe be used to transport water from the roof tops to the recharge trench? Someone told me that U-PVC is not suited for carrying fresh water as its chemical composition is not conducive for such a use.
- Is HDPE pipe a better alternate to U-PVC pipe? I am planning to take the pipe from rooftop to the recharge trench in the garden through an underground pipe. Which of the 2 is suited better for underground laying?
- If we have good filtration system and de-silting system in place, do we still need to use the first flush valves?
- Before starting off, how do I measure the present state of groundwater level in my garden area?
