I had a problem when drilling borewell for irrigation purpose and the drillers say that the air is passing and would not be able to drill any further. This happened 2 years back in Kodagu, Virajpet, Karnataka in South India and even the geologist report says between 60- 80 feet the rig operator will face the problem of air passing.
Tried to get the borewell done with 6inch diameter rig and the 1st time at 60 feet there was air passing and could not proceed any further. The rig operator stopped proceeding further as he said that the drilling cannot be done. There was no casing installed.
Geologist report also says that there is a possibility of air pass but that is only a minor problem which the riggers would take care of as mentioned earlier. But the drillers are unable to proceed further.
Need to know how we can proceed in drilling further. Is there any technique that will help resolve the situation ?
