TDS level is 612 in borewell water in Bangalore, Karnataka- Need to know the water filter system to go for

I am home user - living in a gated community in bangalore with borewell water is supplied, get collected in a sump tank- is pumped to overhead tank for supply to the house.

I also have rain water harvesting where water is collected from roof tops  and after based filtering gets added to the common sump.

The whole household received water frm this sump tank. I have a eureka phobes UV filter for drinking water purpose.

I got my drinking water tested and the report is attached. Worrisome parameters are:

  1. TDS 612
  2. Hardness 408
  3. Calcium 134
  4. Alkalinity ot methyl orange 220
  5. silica 1.19
  6. Fluoride 1.38

Here are my questions - primarily from the health of the family point of view - as that is the only concern:

  1. Should i go for a RO based water purifier for drinking water or is my current UV based system enough?
  2. What each of above term means (specifically in terms of effect on the health of the family?
  3. Does high TDS lead to gastric troubles. I seem to be suffering from Irritable bowl syndrome (IBS) - can the water be blamed for that? Will moving to an RO purifier help?
  4. Since rain water. with its own impurities. also is part of the drinking water - is an RO system recommended.?
  5. In rain water systems - is there a danger of poisoning if any lizard or any other insect etc enters the rain drain system?
  6. What other measures can I take to make water safe for my family?

Your patient replies to my questions would greatly help.

thanks in advance
