My parents built a house in a field and also my sister is doing the same next to my parents. They both dug the well. My parents wells waters is red color and it smells. My sister's smells, but not that red but still it is very muddy. Basically, people are not able to use these as it causes itching and other skin irritation. Currently, there are no other source for water in this area. My parents tried Bore well but the water is very limited and is not sufficient for the all the household use.
Could you please explain what might be causing this and also, is there anyway to purify the water within the well or from the tank before use ?
They tried some traditional methods but those only cleared the color for few days.
