We are all aware that as part of the rainwater harvesting activity, we inject large quantities of rainwater into the soil through properly designed recharge wells to sustain and improve the groundwater source. The question is how does the injected water move within the soil?
Is there a preferred direction or is it spherically symmetric?
How does it vary with respect to the nature of the soil?
This question arises from the resident’s anxiety to know where to locate the recharge well in order to get the maximum benefit for his bore well.
