HI,
We are faced with a peculiar problem. We do not know if the fault is with the contractor or the borewell.
1. We dug a new borewell and hit multiple streams from 150 ft till 400 ft.
2. A 5HP 4 inch pump was installed and started functioning without any problem.
3. The moment we installed sensors, the pump would then work only for 20 minutes at
a stretch. For the next 20 mins run we would have to wait for another 40 mins.
4. Is it possible that inspite of no change in the water level, borewell had water at 80-90 ft. (This we
checked with a heavy weight on a string) the pump runs out of water after 20 mins. For a 415 ft
well it seems to have water for the last 325 feet. This is a 6 inch borwell.
Question is, can the problem be of the pump or can 20 mins of pumping by a 5 HP pump remove all the water
at such a speed that the borewell goes dry, takes another 40 mins to fill up and then starts up again.
Remember for close to 8 days we had a continuous flow of water and we were able to run the pump for
nearly 1 or 2 hours also at times.
