I am based at the Cranfield Water Science Institute in the UK and I am beginning some doctoral research into water quality management in low income rural regions. At this initial stage of the project I am hoping to talk to Indian water specialists about the challenge of delivering water quality initiatives in rural areas. I would invite group members to share their views but, also, if any of you think you have some particular expertise on this subject then please message me and we can arrange to speak on this matter.
A few questions that I have are:
- Do you think enough attention is paid to water quality?
- Is technology the answer?
- What is an acceptable level of water quality risk?
- And how do you balance this against the cost of treatment?
- Furthermore, what are the socio-economic barriers?
