I wish to know about what all action / precautions one should take before digging a bore well for public drinking water in distant villages. I came accross many cases where the newly digged borewell failed to deliver minimum yield and was subsequently abondoned. In order to avoid such problems can we take advise from CGWB who can indicate specific location of bore well with higher probability of water.Can we also take help from remote sensing agencies like(NRSA, Dehradun, Hyderabad) for taking some advice about potential of water in that location. Request to advise considering latest technology / practices on the subject.
