Need a suitable technology for purification of borewell water for an apartment complex

Hi,

We are  constructing an apartment of 80 flats in Ongole, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. We use borewell water for non-drinking purposes. For drinking purpose we use water supplied by the municipality. Individual flats have their own water filters for drinking water.

Borewell water is stored in the ground level tank and then it is pumped up to the overhead tank from where it is supplied to each flat. This water will be used for all purposes other than drinking.

In this respect, I would like to ask about the various methods of filtering the water which is stored in the ground tank. We need very basic filtering process, which should be easy to use, economical and safe. Daily requirement of purified water would be around 60,000 litres and would be used for all purposes other than drinking.

A water quality test was carried out and the results are as follows:

Colour : Hazen units : 10
Total Dissolved Solids : 2690 mg/l
Turbidity( NTU) : o.6
pH : 7.74
Total Alkalinity to Methyl otange (as CaCo3) : 612 mg/l
Chlorides (as Cl) : 1040 mg/l

Calcium ( as Ca ) : 136.8 mg/l

Magnesium (as Mg) : 83.1 mg/l

Silica (as SiO2) : 38

Sulphates (as SO4) : 140 ml/l
Nitrates (as NO3) : nil

Total Hardness (as CaCo3)) : 684 mgl

Iron (as Fe) : 0.08 mg/l

Free Residual Chlorine: 0 mg/l

Flouride ( as F) : 1.4 mg/l

Odour : agreeable

Taste : agreeable

Kindly consider the test report and our uses as mentioned and recommend a suitable water purifying process.

Thanks and regards,
