Need solutions to address the issue of reduced yield from borewell

Hi,

I have dug a borewell approximately in Feb 2012. First rock was hit at 140 ft and casing is done till then. Initial yield was excellent. Recently the yield has dropped drastically. Our assumption was that the problem was insufficient capacity of the motor - 2HP 24 stages Motor (Suguna) staged till: 530 ft (not sure though) I have a rainwater harvesting pit just 5 ft away from borewell.

Below questions are there on my mind. Kindly suggest.

1. One of the borewell agencies suggested to do Flexing. Though he cant assure if that would be successful. Please give some insights on this process.

2. Read one of the questions posted in this forum and it discussed that motor was stuck in the middle of the borewell due to formation of silt and they had to abandon the motor. I am scared if that would happen to me as well. Are there any precautionary measure that we can take to ensure, motor wont get stuck in the middle?

3. Can I redrill the bore? Any suggestions for doing so?

Any suggestions on these would greatly help.
