Sir,
I have a borewell at HSR sector-1, the depth is 360ft, after 10' the rest 350' is hard rock. The pump is at 330' it is 2HP Crompton make (water source at 80' and at 120' yield about 1" of water). The well is working from last 2 years. Recently one month back, we dug a well of about 8 ft depth 4ft diameter for rainwater harvesting. The pit is about 4ft from the borewell.
Yesterday , the borewell pump stopped working. While removing the pump lot of effort was required as it had settled in silt. (when removed, outer of the pump and motor had grey colour coating). On examination it was found that the pump burnt out and the bush/bearing are to be replaced.
Now before fixing the pump, is it advisable to
1. Clean the borewell
2. Clean the borewell and insert slotted pipe, if yes what is the length of slotted pipe, or
3. Reduce the length of delivery pipe say by 20' and fix the pump
Kindly advice also on shifting rain water harvesting pit to distant place (site size 50' x 80')
Regards
