I am Nitin Raulji from Vadodara, Gujarat. I am looking for information of legislations and recommended methods for rainwater harvesting. There has been considerable awareness among people about the need for rainwater harvesting. But, there is not much reliable information in public domain and government regulatory guidelines on this subject. As a result, many individuals, residential communities and service providers are adopting rainwater harvesting without proper measures and polluting groundwater.
It is also found that many companies around Vadodara, are abusing the rainwater harvesting system to discharge waste into groundwater. Many villages spread across several hundred kilo meters get coloured chemical water in their taps. In urban areas, things are more serious as rainwater harvesting is being adopted fast without adequate precautionary measures to safeguard groundwater.
Water running on the surface in residential areas is also drained in the rainwater harvesting system. In this context, I shall appreciate if you could suggest some techno-legal resources with which I can update myself and study the problem in detail.
