In olden days , farmers used to draw water from wells by mechanical means with bulls to the field at higher level. Later they used diesel engines and now the electrical energy. Now the most states have not been supplying power to the farm sector.Now it appears imperative to roll back to the traditional systems, but the livestock census has also come down.
In rural areas , people used to draw diesel from the filled drums/tanks by pipes into smaller tins by creating vaccum, which enabled the flow of diesel/liquid from big tanks to smaller tins by gravity. Here the conundrum, can we use the same principle to draw water from a water body to fields at higher level Viz., against gravity by creating vaccum initially through pipes and to get uninterrupted flow?
