Need to get water from a nearby canal to my field - Should I use a 4" or 5" pipeline? What hp submersible pump should I use?

Hi,

I would like to install a pipeline from a water canal to my farm which is 1.5 kms from the water source. Please suggest if a 4 inch pipeline will be sufficient to get good amount of discharge or should I go for a 5" pipeline? What should be the hp of openwell submersible pump if the head is at 55 to 60 mts? The water canal gets water for 5 days after every 40 days.
