We have a Project " raw water pumping from river for an industry" , which includes the design of intake, Jack well, pumping main. Though an exclusive Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is being planned within the industry premises, which also includes sedimentation before filtration, the client desires a per-sedimentation before pumping from Jackwell. The purpose is to reduce the cleaning of the silt etc., Would like to know if this is practiced anywhere else, if not, can you please give any documentary references. Thank You.
