I have shifted to Whitefiled, Bangalore a year back. We have geysers installed in our flat (3000 flats). In most of the cases, first coils lasts for ~1 year. Once the coil is replaced by vendor (geyser manufacturer itself), coil lasts only for 2-3 months. Vendor quotes that it is due to water hardness in the apartment. However, most of the coils blowing up in 2-3 months is not due to water issue and is due to poor quality of the coils being supplied.It looks vendor has created a monopoly and minting money.
What is the acceptable durability of geyser coils?
