Hello,
I have recently helped install 2-3 rooftop water harvesting projects in Jaipur. All the projects had the same design - capturing the roof water and directing it into a recharge borewell. During the process, I installed sieves (hindi = Jaali) on the downtake points of roof so that leaves, twigs and other solid matter does not enter the pipe.
But ever since, the owners have been complaining of these seives getting blocked and needing constant cleaning. They are asking me to remove all the sieves and to let water flow directly from roofs to the filtration tank.
I am worried that this would allow a lot of organic matter and other solids to accumulate in the pipe or filtration tank. Kindly guide me on what can be done to resolve the issue!
