Low yield of a borewell in an apartment in Bangalore, Karnataka - Need suggestions to improve the yield

Hello there,

We have 5 bore wells in our apartment (located at Sajapur Road, Bangalore) and only 1 is currently being used as the rest went dried out. The reason being the curreent one is located near to the childrens play area and thankfully there is no plastering done.

The problem with the current borewell is that when we switch on the motor, the water discharge will be almost 100% for the first 10 minutes and as it goes the discharge will reduce. The output line is a 1-1/2" GI pipe.

Even the power consumption while running the borewell is high, so we have decided not to run it contineously. we are relying on tankers to get our water for daily needs.

I'm not sure about other specification of the bore well as this was dug by the builder 4 years back and he don't have much information on that. We don't have a proper RWH done.

There are apartments close by ours and they are getting plenty of water from borewells, infact they totally depend on the borewell.

Request your valuable suggestion for improving the yield of the current borewell.

thanks and regards,

Rajesh
