Low water yield due to silt in a borewell in a house in Bangalore, Karnataka - Need solutions

I am resident of North Bangalore (hebbal area); my house has a borewell, dug up and done in June 2000 and I have been using since then. The details are:

-          Borewell location : backyard of the independent house, near the compound wall

-          Backyard clearance: 2 – 2.5 feet from house

-          Depth of borewell : 220 Feet

-          Depth of 6” casing : 126 feet

-          Water Yield projected:  300-400 gallons/hour (by water diviner), then

-          Water found at 150 feet, then

-          Silt found at 220 feet, then

-          Driven by 1.5 HP Suguna Compressor

-          Terrace water re-charged to the ground…about 10 feet away from the borewell. This was done Oct-Nov, 2011.

Very recently (on 19th February, 2011) I had used the services of a borewell company to de-silt. The de-silting was stopped at about 190 feet, results being small rocks and silt. The assessment of the company was that the well had gone dry. On using the compressor, we found the water output was absent.

The above action was taken by me after the civil contractor (who renovated my home) assessed the borewell depth at 140 feet and indicated that silt had filled in. A suggestion provided was to increase the pipe length of the compressor to check if water depth has gone down and if there is yield enough to manage summer.

Would appreciate if you can help me with counsel / next steps / solutions that can help me deal with this situation and help draw water. Thanks, In anticipation.
