I am concerned about the recent floods in Bihar and other parts of India, apparently the worst floods in living memory. I would like to know what is the direct relation otf the intensity of the floods to Global Warming or Climate change, ie: is it because the monsoon lasted 20 days?, Is there any relation with the reduction of the snow cover of the Himalayas?. How could climate change contribute to the floods in Bihar and other areas of India? Is there reliable data for supporting this? Are there other concerns within the field of water and sanitation that can be directly related to Climate Change or Global Warming in the short term?
Thank you very much
