Driller stopped borewell at 280 feet due to water pressure & difficulty in drilling - How deep should we go once we get water?

Before posting, I checked the FAQ but it is not mentioned about our problem. In our scenario we struck water at 270 feet (around 3.5") and drilled till 280 feet after which driller stopped quoting difficulty in drilling because of water pressure. How deep should we go once we get water?
