I have a borewell at Horamavu to a depth of 450ft dug in 2003. Since last 2 months, after the pump runs for about 3-4 min, the current drops from around 13A to less than 10A. After this drop, the water flow also stops. Fearing damage to the submersible pump, I switch it off after the drop in current.
- Is this an electrical problem?
- Does the borewell have silt? If so, is it better to get it removed? What is the cost? Some of our friends in the area have told me that silt removal does not really improve the water output. What is your experience?
- Does the pump have any problem?
What steps should I take without wasting money?
