I am working as management trainee in a fertilizer industry.We have a Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) which treats 3.2 MGD of Ammonical-N waste. But the problem is that the ammonia stripper which we have installed has an capacity of treat 1500mg/l Ammonical-N waste but sometimes the load is very high, about4500-5000mg/l. The stripper efficiency is 85%.
After stripping, it goes to nitrification-denitrification tank where further load gets reduced. Can you suggest any feasible pre-treatment option to reduce high ammonical-N load before it goes to the biological process to reduce load
