I'm working on groundwater vulnerability in Chennai City area. I have a question about the households connected to the piped sewer system in Chennai. There are contradictory information from the officials concerning number of connected households.
1. "Chennai Metro Water" indicates to have 5,98,249 households connected to the Sewage system (http://www.chennaimetrowater.com/departments/operation/sewerage.htm)
2."Census of India 2011" states to have 92.7% of the 11,06,567 connected to the piped sewer system => roughly 10 lakhs (http://www.censusindia.gov.in/2011census/hlo/Data%20sheet/TN/HLO_Datasheet_Latrine_Page1.pdf)
Can anyone help me with a good estimation of households connected to the piped sewer system?
