I live in a hilly region called Attapadi in Kerala. I have sunk a borewell.
We hit rock after 80 feet of drilling hence 80 feet casing used. Further we drilled up to 575 feet. We hit water intermittently and the borewell people said we would get about 1and a half to two inches of water.
A 7.5 Hp pump was installed with 2 inches pipe. The well was used after 3-4 months of drilling the borewell.The motor at the beginning would pump for 45 mins to 1 hour and then cut off. Restarting after a switch off for some time would result in the same phenomenon. Currently the motor runs for 2 to 3 hours, and with a break for one hour it runs the same.
Can you please explain why this behaviour by the borewell. is there any way I can improve the performance of the borewell. Also as soon as we finished drilling the borewell, there was a hissing kind of noise happening inside the bore, like the water was flowing elsewhere. Would appreciate any kind of advise.
