We are from Adivasi Development Society (ADS) working in the tribal sub plan block Gumma of Gajapati District in the State of Odisha, India since 13 years base in social service serving the marginalized tribals- the primitive adivasi community with integrated development interventions giving top most priority for the livelihood options of the community with effective management and control of natural resources management through water and soil conservation methods initiating the agro horticulture, value addition and processing of non timber forest produces, eco development and other allied activities along with capacity building of the adivasi community, gender in development, women empowerment through formation of self help groups promoting collective business development enterprises, micro finance interventions mainly to address the immediate poverty needs of the community.
Unemployment, sheer poverty, wage inequality, fragile of natural resources, degradation of forest and natural environment, in appropriate development priorities, migration to other portions in search of productive employment opportunities, lack of knowledge on local self governance, accessing to and control over the resource base and illiteracy are some of the dire consequences and grim realities in the project area where we are working.
ADS is absolutely lead by the community with effective governance, good systems and values ensuring transparency and accountability in financial and project management leaded by a resourceful team and dynamic governing body with sound potential on the infrastructure base.
