WWF-India started life as a wildlife conservation organization. It was founded in 1969 as a Charitable Public Trust, with the express objective of ensuring the conservation of the country's wildlife and wild habitats.
Description: We invite applications from motivated young individuals, with the understanding of the life and preservation of trees, their value and contribution to environment conservation.
Job responsibilities:
- Promote the understanding of the value of trees to our world and dwelling and work places to urban and semi-urban residents
- Develop and implement citizen led initiatives to plant and preserve trees with partners and stakeholders
- Design and lead campaigns that promote greater awareness on the need for conservation of trees and which reduce negative impacts of development on trees
- Work with partners to promote the understanding and raising of indigenous trees within nurseries
Qualification:
- Must have botanical and pedagogic knowledge of the subject- life and preservation of trees, their value and contribution to the overall environment
- Good communication skills in both written spoken. Ability to work with a varied audience, both urban and rural
- A Masters degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering/ Forestry/ Natural Resources or related disciplines.
- Ability to work with a team and multiple stakeholders and deliver results.
- Must have experience in education, communication and/or campaigns. Experience in working with communities preferred
Remuneration:
Remuneration will be competitive with Indian NGO pay scales and will depend upon candidate’s experience levels and the overall WWF-India salary structure. WWF-India does not provide housing, telephone or vehicle facilities.
