Water.org is a dynamic, rapidly growing international organization addressing the global water supply crisis. It is committed to providing clean drinking water and improved sanitation to communities in developing countries. Working in partnership with donors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders, Water have helped people around the world develop accessible, sustainable, community-level water and sanitation (watsan) services. Water.org currently operates in several countries, including Ethiopia and Kenya, and is considering other countries for expansion.

Background:

Water.org has pioneered its WaterCredit initiative over the last several years, which enables clients of microfinance institutions (MFIs) to improve the access, quantity, and quality of their families' water and sanitation services.

Job Description

  • Document case studies and stories from partner organizations
  • Obtain regular photos from partners
  • Manage deployment of semi-annual partner newsletter
  • Prepare information/education/communication (IEC)-related materials for health and hygiene education
  • Prepare video in conjunction with the partners. Circulate to US office with approval from Country Director.
  • Participate in field visits for documentation purposes
  • Manage collection of site-level data, including GPS data, from partners and circulate regularly to US staff
  • Develop customized maps based on the collection and analysis of GPS data
  • Manage process of providing weekly beneficiary updates into the my.water.org site from partners
  • Knowledge of web designing is desirable

Required Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Mass Media/Communications/ English literature or related field.
  • Have understanding and work experience pertinent to Water, Sanitation & Hygiene and social development sector.
  • Excellent spoken and writing skills in English. Fluency in national and few regional languages
  • Experience in development communications work.

  • Ability to compile, design and produce high-quality communication material.
  • Skills to communicate results, achievements and innovative practices to internal and external stakeholders.

Remuneration

Salary will commensurate with experience and qualification for eligible candidates.
