Water For People is a USA based non-profit organization, which supports people of developing countries improve their quality of life by promoting of locally sustainable drinking water sources, sanitation facilities and health and hygiene programs. The organization believes that access to safe water and adequate sanitation are basic human rights and can help put an end to needless suffering and death from water related preventable diseases.

In India, Water For People interventions in West Bengal aims at promoting sustainable systems that facilitate provision of safe water and sanitation to communities and schools. Soon, the program will be scaled-up to vulnerable districts in the northern India.
Water For People – India is looking to recruit motivated personal to share Water For People vision of build a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation, a world where no one suffers or dies from a water or sanitation related diseases.
Qualification:
A Master Degree from a recognized University in English Literature, social science, Communication techniques, documentation or a related field.
Job description:
Lead and manage the communication function of Water For People-India as an essential support function for program implementation, resource mobilization towards a consistent in branding of, positioning in the sector and building up the image of Water For People-India as a leading water, sanitation and hygiene organization in India
Major Responsibilities:
- To ensure that relevant program information and documents are collected, organized and maintained in the country office and shared with Water For People – India program staff for their work.
- To ensure publications like electronic and printed Newsletters, Brochure, Annual Report, Best practices documents etc. are brought out in time and shared both internally and externally to communicate Water For People role and its contribution in the water and sanitation sector in the country.
- To ensure that our program information/documents are shared and updated with Denver office, global Newsletter (“update”) and other communication tools.
- To ensure training and capacity building of partner staff and frontline workers on documentation skills.
- To ensure that all our materials align and follow in-house communication policy.
- The job involves the conceptualization and design of the communications strategy for the organization and its contribution to the resource mobilization and fund raising activities as well as providing inputs to the strategy for advocacy and development education.
