Nominations/applications are invited for four “National Awards for Excellence in Forestry by ICFRE“ for the period 2008-2010 on biannual basis. These awards shall be given for original and outstanding notable work/research contribution in the fields of (a) Forest Education (b) Forest Research (c) Forest Extension.
One of the four awards called “Young Scientists Award in Forestry” shall be given only to the scientist with 40 years or less of age, with work preferably linked to the project(s) of ICFRE.
Each of the four awards carries Rs.1,00,000/- and a certificate.
Eligibility:
- All institutes, workers (individuals and teams of scientists) engaged in research in forestry wood and applied sciences and those concerned with the afforestation, forest conservation, protection and utilization etc. shall be eligible for the award
- The notable and original research work both fundamental and applied mentioned in books, monographs, papers, and other published accounts of outstanding research work, inventions and discoveries which contribute to the advancement of forestry, wood, and allied sciences shall qualify for the award. Meritorious work done in afforestation, forest protection, bio-diversity, forest conservation etc. shall qualify for award in the relevant field
- Only Indian citizens are eligible for these awards
- An institution, team of scientists or individual once awarded for their/its work shall not be eligible for this award a second time
- The application or work once not accepted for grant of an award in a particular year shall not be considered in the subsequent years also
Four sets of application separately for each category applied for in the prescribed form attached below, complete in all respects, must reach the office of the Secretary, ICFRE.
