The Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) is the nodal agency in the administrative structure of the Central Government for the planning, promotion, co-ordination and overseeing the implementation of India's environmental and forestry policies and programmes.
Nominations are invited for Indira Priyadarshini Vriksha Mitra (IPVM) Awards for the years 2011 from individuals and institutions that have done pioneering and exemplary work in the field of afforestation and wasteland development. Awards will be given to persons/institutions in seven categories that are listed below:
- Individual - Forest Officers
- Individual - Other than Forest Officers
- Institutions/Organizations under Government
- Joint Forest Management Committees ( six awards region-wise)
- Non-profit making voluntary organizations (NGOs)
- Corporate Sector (Private/Public Sector Agencies)
- Eco-Clubs at School Level (covered under National Green Corps Programme of the Ministry of Environment and Forests)
Eligibility:
Awardees of IPVM award in the immediately preceding three years will not be eligible. Nominee’s work for a period of last three years ending 31st December of 2010 will be considered for this award.
Award carries a cash prize of Rs. 2,50,000/- (Rupees Two lakh fifty thousand only) along with medallions and citations.
Last date to send nominations in the prescribed proforma to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests of the concerned
