India Urban Space started as a platform for advocating a spatial focus for planning, and issues related to environment, infrastructure creation, service provision, poverty alleviation and urban governance. Now it has grown as an organization which is actively helping to achieve this objective through pilot projects and larger interfaces and partnerships amongst wider set of stakeholders including market players. We undertake pilot projects in the chosen focus areas that target the gaps in the present planning process and then deliver, advocate and practice the appropriate standards, methodologies and approaches in urban planning.
Job description:
The job responsibilities include: Understanding the urban context and the integration of the various sectors that make up the urban environment, understanding the role and content of master plans and their importance in planning the urban environment, understanding natural resources in urban settings, their consumption and utilisation, their management, protection and preservation, collecting and organising data required for environmental planning and disaster management, using GIS to run analyses on the data.
Qualification:
A professional degree in environmental planning or urban planning with a focus on environment. Two years or more experience in the related field.
