Initiated in 1979, the Department of Geology is actively involved in teaching and research in the field of Applied Geology. Over the past decade the Department has strived to maintain its multidisciplinary approach towards Earth Sciences by applying the concepts of Geology to solve scientific problems faced by the society. The Department maintains ties with well-known organizations such as the Geological Survey of India, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, National Geophysical Research Institute, Central Ground Water Board, ISRO, UNESCO, BSIP, PRL, CESS, the Directorate of Geology and Mining, other universities research institutions.

Duration : Three years

Title of project 

Hydrogeological Studies of the proposed uranium mining site, Gogi region, Karnataka.

Fellowship stipend

Rs. 14,000 /-per month +HRA+MA

Eligibility

M.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology/Environmental Sciences or ME (Water Reso Engg/Hydrology)

Interested candidates can send their bio-data with photo to the Principal investigator by email on or before 21.01.2013 and attend an interview (No TA/DA will be paid) on 23.01.2013 at 10.00 am with original certificates at Department of Geology, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025.

Selected candidate should be able to join for work immediately. The candidates need to be self-motivated, be interested in research and have good communication skills.
