Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CINI) focuses its works in tribal areas of West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and South Rajasthan. CINI’s develops approaches for comprehensive tribal development in collaboration with partners of the Central India Initiative. It focuses on food security and livelihood security through its core themes of Food Security, Diversion Based Irrigation, Micro-Finance, Community Based Institutions, Forest Based Livelihoods.

Description:
CINI has recently launched a partnership with the International Livestock Research Institute (www.ilri.org) for enhancing knowledge systems in livestock development in Jharkhand, as part of a multi state partnership with the Sir Ratan Tata Trust. CINI is interested in building on this partnership while strengthening its work on livestock enhancement across the Central India Initiative.

Job description:
Experience of working in a multi stakeholder programme, you’ll be Familiar with community mobilization, capacity building and comfortable working closely with different partner organisations including NGO, academicians government departments and other resource agencies.

  1. Provide technical skills and strategic inputs to the organisation on pig/goat project in Jharkhand.
  2. Provide technical support to partner agencies to enhance the quality of the programme activities,
  3. Provide conceptual inputs for livelihood promotion activities with focus on increasing access and control of resources for poor, and marginalized communities.
  4. Build linkage/alliances with NGOs/ruralcommunities/Universities etc.
  5. Promotion projects through community participation.

Qualification:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Veterinary Science/animal nutrition/ rural management/ with minimum 4-5 years of experience in livestock research/development/support Services. Sound understanding of pig / goat production systems and their role in rural livelihoods, particularly with underprivileged communities and groups would be required.

Desirables:

1. Good Communication & Documentation skills
2. Good knowledge of English & Hindi
3. Computer knowledge in MS Office

Nature of Job:
Contractual, Salary based on qualification and experience.
