Central Himalayan Rural Action Group (CHIRAG) is a registered society that has worked in the Kumaun region of Uttarakhand for the past twenty-five years.
CHIRAG’s vision is “To improve the quality of life of women and low-income households in the central Himalayan of Uttarakhand through an integrated approach to sustainable development led by vibrant village level institutions based on the principles of dignity, equality and solidarity”.
Description:
CHIRAG is looking for an Executive Director. The Executive Director reports to the Governing Body of the organisation.
Responsibilities include:
- Motivate and lead a diverse team
- Bring to bear a passion and commitment to improving the quality of life of women and low-income households
- Strengthen village and Panchayat level institutions
- Ensure that integrated and sustainable developmental choices are provided to households
- Build alliances, partnerships and collaborations with individuals, institutions & government to facilitate realisation of the vision
- Facilitate availability of the requisite funds and resources to realise the vision
- Ensure compliance with laws of the land
- Monitor and review programmes and finances and ensure accountability
Requirements:
- Be willing to live in a rural area
- Possess a minimum of fifteen years of experience with at least ten in a leadership position
- Be able to understand and converse in Hindi
- Make a commitment for atleast five years
