LEAD India is pleased to announce a highly innovative regional leadership and capacity building programme for water professionals working with Civil Society Organisations (CSO's). The programme is focused on nurturing leadership for transboundary cooperation and related issues, both at community and regional levels. Subsequently, it also aims to build a specialised group of change makers, who can provide solutions to transboundary water challenges and enhance dialogue on forward looking initiatives and policy reforms with key decision makers.
The Programme Structure
The programme will be delivered through exclusively designed modules that meet the needs of participants and ensure them on a path of transformative learning and enhance their leadership capacity in an integrated and interdisciplinary manner. It will cover various themes under technical knowledge (climate change, ecology, water economy, conservation, laws etc.), skills development (negotiations, advocacy, communications etc.,) and sectoral issues (agriculture, DRR etc.). It’s a fully paid fellowship programme 4-week residential program spread over 10 months in 2017 that includes:
- Two Regional training sessions. (Training of trainers, 1 week each)
- In-house trainings within trainers organisation (1 week)
- Community engagement activities (as per project)
- Policy initiative and dialogue processes
Eligibility Criteria
- 6-7 Years of professional experience in CSO/NGO’s including 3-4 years of management experience
- University degree with relevant national and international experience
- Practical experience in transboundary cooperation/water /conservation/climate change issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Consent from the participant’s organisation to engage in programme activities
- Participant’s organisation must be registered atleast five years prior to the date of application and with a minimum of three years programmatic focus on water issues
