We need to hire a Senior Project Manager to strengthen our Project Grants team.

The Senior Project Manager’s duties will include:
• Managing a set of the key projects through the entire grant cycle, starting from approval to implementation to impact assessment of the project.
• Working closely with the partner organizations for mid-course evaluation and changes
• Collect relevant project data, manage project outputs and cull out outcomes
• Analyzing the lessons learnt from the projects, document and disseminate the learnings
• Identifying and following up on advocacy & policy opportunities with Government, other institutions and NGOs
• Coordinate research, publications, advocacy etc in core areas of work
• Coordinate with the larger resource group, other partners and the documentation team.
• Liaison with NGOs, international agencies, key research institutes and Government officials to forge strategic partnerships going forward.
Requirements:
• Bachelors in any field, preferably Civil Engineering, from a reputed institution with an excellent academic record. Masters or other higher qualification is a plus.
• Strong Project Management experience with a proven track record of at least 12 - 15 years in executing mid-to-large projects.We are looking for someone with experience as a project manager in a development project/ WATSAN sector
• Strong interest and understanding of the development sector is essential; need to be able to understand the domain issues that arise, in order to make the right decisions
• Strong Understanding of various Government schemes, structures and system is required
• Should have worked on advocacy and policy making in the WATSAN areas
• Ability to get multiple groups and partners to work towards a common goal.
• Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills required. Travel required.
• Should be comfortable with the use of computers and internet
• Knowledge of multiple Indian languages is an added advantage

At least 30 million people don’t have access to safe drinking water in urban India, and 40 million live in slums without adequate sanitation facilities. And the situation is only going to worsen. Arghyam is looking for a dynamic individual to lead our team in Bangalore as Senior Manager of Arghyam’s Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) initiative.
The Urban initiative is a highly complex, first-of-its-kind exercise for Integrated Urban Water Management bringing together multiple stakeholders from the technical, social, institutional, research and planning angles to develop a sustainable model.

Senior Manager, Urban Water and Sanitation Management
Full-time position, based in Bangalore
Academic Qualifications:
Civil, Environmental, Water, or Public Health Engineer/Professional, preferably with a Master’s degree from a reputed University.
Experience:
Extensive (10/15/20 years) broad experience in Urban Development in any of the organizations like Non-profit, Government, Research, Multilateral agencies, or Private Engineering firms. Experience in the areas of urban water and sewerage, urban infrastructure planning and development, environmental planning and management required.
Job Functions:
The Senior Manager will have the responsibility to lead and coordinate a diverse team of professionals / partners to deliver the IUWM project. The Senior Manager will report to the Director and head a team to define, plan and implement the project. The following are the roles and responsibilities for this position.
• Perform high level program Management of complex set of highly interdependent set of activities with all the partners who include Local bodies, Community, Academic & Research institutions, NGOs, Government agencies and Vendors.
• Drive decision making based on in depth knowledge of the IUWM project and the water/sanitation domain.
• Create strong communication mechanisms to ensure that everyone is in sync. Must articulate the IUWM strategy and plan effectively both internally and externally.
• Responsible for Project and people management to ensure timely delivery of outputs,manage risks, increase productivity, and proactively identify potential problems and drive solutions.
Skills Required:
- Proven track record of strong program and project management, people management, and coordination skills.
- Technical background in the water or environmental space in urban settings. Relevant knowledge/background in Science or Engineering required
- Demonstrated ability in Clarity in thinking; ability to conceptualize, analyse and breakdown complex problems
- Given the cutting edge nature of the project, strong ability to work with incomplete data and handle experimental nature of work.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with several internal & external teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with exercising good judgment.
- Having a proven track record delivering innovations to projects
