APN's call for proposals under ARCP programme and CAPaBLE programme - Apply by July 29, 2011

Asia-Pacific NetworkCountries within the Asia‐Pacific region support more than half of the world’s population and changes in the Earth’s bio geophysical system are clearly impacting the societies and economies of these countries.

The APN is inviting proposals under two separate programmes, the ARCP Programme and the CAPaBLE Programme, for funding from April 2012, and is able to provide a limited amount of financial support1 for research and capacity development activities that fall within its areas of interest.

The proposals submission and review process consists of 3 main stages:

  • Stage 1 – Submission and review of Summary Proposal (compulsory)
  • Stage 2 – Submission and 2‐step review process of Full Proposal (by invitation)
  • Stage 3 – Final Decision‐Making

APN supports research on physical, biological, and human dimensions of change in the Earth's systems. APN's CAPaBLE program focuses on training, awareness raising, and partnerships in these themes. Eligible countries are Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pacific Island States, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, USA, and Vietnam. Last year, grant awards were approximately US$45,000 for ARCP research projects, and US$40,000 for CAPaBLE projects.
