Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi is a research based and policy advocacy organization actively working in the area of sustainable water management for which it has been chosen as Centre of Excellence by Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Objective:
By the end of 2 day training program, the participants will be able to understand:

  • Water management and status of sewage generation and treatment in India
  • Fundamentals of wastewater treatment
  • Review of the existing treatment practices
  • Decentralized approaches in treating sewage
  • New and emerging on site technologies in domestic wastewater treatment
  • Water efficient sanitation practices
  • Economics of decentralized wastewater treatment systems
  • Planning, designing, implementation and monitoring of localized treatment systems

There would be an optional field visit to DWWT case study in Agra on June 30 for interested particpants on payment basis (excluding training cost)

Target audience:
Civil engineers, architects, urban planners, environment consultants, NGOs, students and academicians with interest in the theory, practice and policy of urban water management.

How to apply:
The course fee should be paid in advance by demand draft/cheque in the name of CENTRE FOR SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENT payable at New Delhi. Please complete and print the REGISTRATION FORM which can be obtained from the contact below and post / fax it to CSE.

CSE can help in arranging accommodation for outstation participants (at cost) on request no less than two weeks in advance.

Course fee:
The course fee is Rs. 6,600. The training fee includes training material, field visit, lunch, tea/coffee and refreshments during training and field visit.

Discounts for NGOs and students: They can avail a discount of 50 per cent on the course fee . Discounted seats are limited and offered on first come first serve basis.

Fellowships Available for Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives.  The decision of the selection committee is final in this respect.

Participants will get a certificate at the end of the course.

An Advanced course on Rainwater Harvesting will also be conducted from June 26-27, 2012 . The 4 day combined course (Rainwater havrvesting and Decentralised wastewater treatment and reuse) is available to you at a fee of Rs. 13,200. Participants interested in applying for both the courses can avail a discount of 25 per cent on total fee.
