Description:
The training will encompass climate change mitigation and adaptation practices from a gender lens (principles and hands on training), as well as policy and advocacy campaigns that promote the rights of women farmers and demand gender sensitive climate change/other pertinent policies and programs. There will also be emphasis on women’s traditional knowledge systems that promote seed sovereignty and ecological farming and natural resource management practices.
There is no cost of participation. We are inviting a team of 2 women from each NGO (one grassroots rural woman leader, also a farmer and a trainer, and the other NGO representative who empowers and supports rural women’s groups) to apply for this innovative training program. Women will be accepted only in teams of two, from the states of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Bihar.
